Shimeji Pals shows small animated pets on your screen. Everything works on your device. The app has no accounts and no server of its own. It shows no ads. It uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the app is used.
To keep the pets on screen while you use other apps, Shimeji Pals asks for the "Display over other apps" permission. The app only draws its own pets in small windows. It does not read, record or capture what other apps show on the screen, and it does not read what you type.
While the pets are out, Android requires an ongoing notification. It only offers buttons to open the app and to hide the pets. You can hide the pets at any time from the app or the notification.
Your chosen pets and settings (size, speed, climbing, naps) are stored only in the app's private storage on your device.
The app contains no ads and does not access the advertising ID of your device.
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how many people use it and which screens they open. Firebase collects an app-instance identifier (not the advertising ID), usage events (such as app opens and screen views), device model, operating system version and approximate location derived from the IP address. This data is not used for advertising. Google's handling of Firebase data is described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
The app is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.
All pets in the app are original characters made for Shimeji Pals.
